Beyond Gramacho
Beyond Gramacho discloses the socio-economic and environmental conditions, struggles and opportunities that are present in informal resource recovery. Over 1800 recyclers (called Catadores in Brazil) were working day and night at the landfill and neighbouring recycling cooperatives, recovering recyclable materials from the waste stream, before its closure in April 2013.

Recycling Networks Project in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (English)
The Conference on Recycling Networks and Waste Governance in Dar es Salaam brought together organizations of waste pickers, waste processors, intermediaries, local governments, academics, policymakers, and technical experts to exchange views, models, experiences, and practical lessons regarding the sustainability of waste collection and processing.
KIWAN Obunga Community Project, Kenya
In April 2018, members of the Kisumu Waste Network (KIWAN) and the Obunga Residents Association participated in a 5-day PV workshop to explore and document challenges and social innovations in waste governance in their community. This video, filmed and edited by the community participants, documents some of the challenges as experienced by the resident in Obunga related to waste management. The video also highlights the social innovations and collaboration of residents working together to make their community safer and cleaner.

O projeto Redes de Reciclagem e Governança de Resíduos Sólidos organizou uma conferencia em Dar es Salaam reunindo organizações de catadores e de reciclagem, processadores de resíduos, intermediários, governo local, acadêmicos, formuladores de políticas públicas e técnicos para trocar ideias, modelos, experiências e lições práticas sobre sustentabilidade, coleta de resíduos sólidos e redes de reciclagem para cidades inclusivas e sustentáveis.
